Mirvac Retail Group has implemented a customer interactive wall installation in Sydney’s Broadway Shopping Centre.

The interactive wall uses motion-sensing cameras to detect the movement of passing shoppers, triggering a variety of dynamic and visually-engaging graphic and video effects, which are projected onto a hoarding area as shoppers walk past.

Broadway Shopping Centre senior marketing manager, Adeline Chin, said the wall was just one of the ways the centre was attracting, retaining and drawing in customers, providing them with something unique and interactive to enjoy.

“The interactive wall provides Broadway with a way of creating a unique ambience and theme for the centre, whilst providing another touch point for us to engage and interact with shoppers,” Chin said.

“In keeping with the Broadway Shopping Centre brand, our aim was to deliver a new, exciting and technological concept to entice our customers and enhance their overall experience.

“The interactive wall has exceeded all our initial expectations by not only increasing customer shopping time and spending within the centre, but we have also increased customer loyalty and have grown our customer base through other aligned offerings,” she said.

Retailers are also feeling the positive impacts of the popular wall installation.

“Being located next to the wall installation has been a great experience for our store, and we have noticed a visible difference in the mood and atmosphere of the centre,” Linda and Co Designer Jewellers owner, Michael Sobbi said.

“Customers love the installation and as a consequence we have also noticed increased foot traffic into our store. It has created a certain ‘buzz’ that you just don’t get at other centres.”

The interactive wall will remain in Broadway Shopping Centre until early July and further innovative technological installations are on the cards for the retail precinct in the near future.
