Increasing economic pressures are forcing many major retailers to downgrade their profits for 2011; meanwhile some have already lost the battle, entering into voluntary administration.
As for those retailers still standing, they are looking for innovative solutions to adopt to turn things around and move them forward.
As such, Retail Exhibition & Conference 2011 will bring together over 4,000 qualified industry buyers and sellers to a living marketplace of technology, shopfitting solutions, design, security and other services
To be held at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre on 13-15 September, Retail 2011 will give retailers and suppliers the opportunity for networking, knowledge sharing, as well as to hear from leading retailers and industry specialists on hot topics faced by the Australian retail landscape.
In addition to a conference that will address the future of retailing, there will be a broad range of sessions featuring presentations, case studies and panel discussions.
Last year’s show saw 82 per cent of visitors indicating that they were likely or highly likely to purchase a product or service they had seen at Retail 2010.
Interpoint Events, the events arm of The Intermedia Group, will be taking charge of organising this year’s Retail Expo. It will handle all aspects of the event, including sales, marketing, registration, conference development, operations and logistics.
Interpoint Events managing director Simon Cooper said this is an exciting opportunity to manage Australia's largest retail show.
"Retail is the event where retailers come to shop; it is the cutting edge of future development in the retail sector,” he said.
This will mean Retail 2011 will be promoted through a range of The Intermedia Group’s retail industry specific publications and websites, including Interior Fitout and RetailBiz.
Interior Fitout, which has a current circulation of 5,557, has been published for the Australian Shop and Office Fitting Industry Association since 1997. Its subscription list reaches architects, designers, store planners, retail managers and developers.
RetailBiz, an online publication that has a circulation of 45,000, keeps Australian retailers informed of the important news and trends affecting the industry across marketing, research, technology, loss prevention, point of sale, fitout and design.
Other retail magazines and websites published by The Intermedia Group are for the gifts and homewares, consumer electronics, bottleshops and hotels, hairdressing and beauty and jewellery industries.
Retail 2011 will co-locate again with three events – Visual Impact Image Expo, Marketing at Retail Expo and PrintWorks Expo. The co-location with Visual Industries Suppliers Association (VISA) and Marketing at Retail Expo 2011 for the first time in Victoria introduces new visitor markets and exciting opportunities.
Currently, as part of organising Retail 2011, Interpoint Events is rolling out a research survey to almost half a million professionals of the industry to keep the event relevant.
