While having a website now days for retailers is crucial, Compuware Gomez web performance benchmark for the Australian retail industry has revealed that response time ratings were low in February.

The average response time fell from 3.676 seconds in January to 4.175 seconds in February.

In fact, Australian retailers’ home page performance was worse on average than US retailers with an average response time rating of 1.646 seconds in February, Compuware said.

David Jones and Big W continued to remain in first and second place, respectively, in February for their response time ratings.

Country Road improved its response time from 2.212 seconds in January to 1.569 seconds February. Likewise, Dymobcks improved its response time from 2.378 seconds in January to 1.681 seconds February.
