AMP Capital Shopping Centres (AMPCSC) will feature 11-year-old Starlight child Feride alongside ambassador Sophie Falkiner, in the upcoming Starlight Children’s Foundation Christmas campaign.
Feride, who has a rare form of bone cancer is set to shine alongside Sophie in all Christmas marketing throughout 14 AMP Capital shopping centres nationally.
Marking the third year AMPCSC has supported Starlight, this year’s ‘Light up Christmas for Starlight’ campaign includes in centre POS, radio and a unique event Jump for Wishes – an attempt to set an Australian record for the largest simultaneous star jump.
Feride will also star on the front of a donation envelope, which will be delivered to mailboxes throughout Australia to encourage goodwill and maximise fundraising. The objective of the 2008 campaign is to raise $300,000 to fund 182 wishes for seriously ill children such as Feride, who is about to realise her dream of meeting the cast of Neighbours on Channel 10.
“We’re very proud of our 2008 Starlight Christmas campaign. We wanted to feature Feride as we felt it was the perfect way to showcase the tremendous work Starlight does,” said spokesperson for AMPCSC, Shaun Swanger.
“Feride was an absolute delight to work with and she had an absolute ball enjoying the red carpet, rock star treatment at the campaign shoot with Sophie. We hope it prepares her for her big day on the set of Neighbours.
“Over the past two years we have raised over $500,000 for Starlight and seeing the excitement on a child’s face, such as Feride’s, makes it a very worthwhile experience,” said Swanger.
Instrumental to achieving this year’s fundraising goal will be Jump for Wishes, a unique fundraising event that will go down in Australian history, setting the record for the largest number of people star jumping at exactly the same time. The event will take place on Saturday 22 November, 2008 at 10 AMPCSCs across Australia.
Customers will be encouraged to register and participate in the event, paying a $5.00 registration fee to raise money for Starlight. Visit www.jumpforwishes.com.au to register for the event and to find out more information.
The AMPCSC ‘Light up Christmas for Starlight’ campaign will run in centres throughout November and December. All funds raised will go directly to benefit Starlight children and their families. To find out more visit www.ampcapital.com.au or www.starlight.org.au
