FedEx Corp has developed a new tool, FedEx Sustainability Insights (FSI), giving customers in Australia access to estimated emissions information on international shipments within the FedEx transportation network.

Customers in Australia and select Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa (AMEA) markets can use the data to help make informed decisions on their future shipping strategy to reduce their impact on the planet.

Created by FedEx Dataworks, the cloud-based data engine uses near-real-time FedEx network data to estimate CO2 emissions. Customers can view estimated emissions data for individual tracking numbers as well as aggregate historical data for their accounts. Data displayed in the tool includes mode of transport, service type, and country or territory for all eligible FedEx Express shipments.

With sustainability being a strategic priority for businesses of all kinds, FedEx Sustainability Insights is a tool that can give customers better visibility of emissions within their supply chains and support reporting and strategic future planning.

FedEx Express president of Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa region, Kawal Preet said, “Environmental stewardship and transparent sustainability reporting is now a universal business imperative. At the same time, consumers also consider sustainability in their decision-making for ecommerce purchases.

“FedEx Sustainability Insights gives our customers direct access to emissions data they need to help them decide how to meet consumer expectations and drive their own business and sustainability efforts forward.”

FedEx Express vice president for Australasia, Peter Langley said, “Advancing environmental sustainability priorities is becoming increasingly important for our customers. Going forward, we will be able to support them with direct access to emissions data to support their own carbon emission goals. With the help of FedEx Sustainability Insights, customers can better understand their shipping patterns and resulting environmental impact.”
