More than 440 Australian and international leading processing and packaging solutions providers will gather at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre next week for the Australasia’s Processing and Packaging Expo (APPEX).

Unlike anything seen before in the Australian marketplace, and not returning until 2027, APPEX 2024 will deliver more suppliers, technology and solutions to Australian manufacturers.

Held across four days from 12 March to 15 March 2024, APPEX represents all sectors encompassing machinery, ancillary equipment, materials and packaging, food processing and industry services, providing a comprehensive range of equipment and services under one roof.

Built on the successful legacy of 30 years of AUSPACK exhibitions, the APPEX 2024 exhibition has increased by 50%, bringing together over 440 of the world’s leading processing and packaging solution providers, including 150 international suppliers.

“Since 1985, AUSPACK has served the Australian market. Transitioning into APPEX will now allow the show to truly represent the entire packaging and processing industry,” APPMA chairman, Mark Dingley said.

For easy navigation, the exhibition floor will be divided into four zones – Materials & Packaging, Packaging Machinery, IT & Services, and Processing & Packaging Machinery – accompanied by Networking Hubs and an APPEX Show Restaurant for networking and entertainment opportunities.

There will be a range of live demonstrations and seminar sessions including the inaugural APPEX Women in Processing & Packaging event taking place on 13th March with NAWO CEO, Louise Weine delivering the keynote: ‘Achieving gender balance in packaging & processing: Systemic change that works’.

The ‘Food Industry Solution Series’ will showcase what’s available to manufacturers interested in bringing manufacturing innovation into their businesses to improve market competitiveness. Hosted and curated by Barry McGookin, speaker sessions will be held on 12th and 14th March.

In addition, the Australian Food & Grocery Council’s Trading Partner Forum (TPF) will partner with leaders in intelligent product identification, inspection and software traceability solutions, Matthews Australasia to bring a new Retailer Engagement Hub to APPEX 2024. The Hub will cover supply chain, labelling and coding, including a 2D barcoding focus, with expert session speakers daily.
