Stockland today demonstrated its commitment to creating healthier Queensland communities,

announcing a three year local partnership with the Jamie’s Ministry of Food Mobile Kitchen

Queensland.

The Mobile Kitchen, which arrived in Townsville for the first time today, will visit various Stockland

shopping centres and residential communities across the state.

Davina Rooney, National Sustainability Manager, Stockland said: “Stockland is thrilled to sign this

three year partnership bringing the Jamie’s Ministry of Food Mobile Kitchen to a host of new locations

across the state. Our partnership is intended to give Queensland participants greater insights into

healthier eating habits, with a particular focus on growing healthy, happy young people.

“Stockland always strives to create a better way to live and we see our shopping centres and the

communities we help to create as an important part of living this ethos. The program includes Jamie’s

hints, tips and shortcuts for preparing food from scratch using fresh ingredients, and Jamie’s

trademark always revolves around preparing and serving nutritious, fresh food on a budget.”

To mark the start of this new partnership, media were invited to look inside the kitchen today to learn

about the innovative, community-based cooking program built on Jamie’s beliefs about cooking and

the associated importance of healthy living.

From Thursday 31st March, Jamie’s Ministry of Food Mobile Kitchen will deliver two cycles of the fiveweek

cooking course at Stockland Townsville for local residents in the community. With classes

running from Monday through to Saturday each week there are a variety of times available with up to

four classes held each day.

Elise Bennetts, Acting CEO, Jamie’s Ministry of Food Australia and The Good Foundation said: “We

are so pleased to expand our wonderful partnership with Stockland with the announcement of a 3

year state based Mobile Kitchen partnership in Queensland. Our partnership with Stockland

continues to instil a sense of community connectedness as we deliver the community-focused

program which inspires participants to get back to basics in the kitchen. Our program teaches people

how to incorporate more fresh food into their diets and I have no doubt that many Townsville

residents will benefit from the program.”

Stockland is committed to supporting programs that build resilience within its communities, fostering

good health and active living, and a sense of community and belonging. Stockland has previously

worked with the Jamie’s Ministry of Food Mobile Kitchen with facilitated visits to Stockland

Rockhampton, Stockland Gladstone and Stockland Point Cook. Stockland also supports the Good

Foundation with a permanent Jamie’s Ministry of Food Kitchen located at the recently redeveloped

Stockland Wetherill Park.

Davina Rooney continues, “Our previous experience with The Good Foundation has shown us that

there are numerous benefits to both Stockland and the local community through hosting the program.

We want to deliver more choice and greater opportunities to our customers and the Jamie’s Ministry

of Food Mobile Kitchen provides this for our customers as well as supporting our objectives.”

The Good Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation which has partnered with Jamie Oliver and

principal partner, Woolworths to deliver Jamie’s Ministry of Food throughout Australia.

Queensland Health has committed funding to The Good Foundation to support the delivery of the

program state wide in Queensland and Stockland has commenced a local partnership with Jamie’s

Ministry of Food Mobile Kitchen program in Queensland.
