Thanh Huynh and Brian Tran from Cabramatta in southwest Sydney have tied the knot with an official KFC wedding valued at $80,000 after winning the package with a Colonel-approved proposal.

Starting with a ceremony at the Sydney Opera House before progressing onto a KFC picnic on Bennelong Lawn with KFC treats at Cabra-Vale Diggers. The big day was decked out with a KFC bucket-themed wedding cake, KFC buckets filled with blooms, chicken suits and personalised KFC buckets for guests, complete without a KFC grazing table featuring KFC’s iconic chicken, Hot & Crispy, Popcorn Chicken and more, as well as a bouquet bucket toss.

Thanh and Brian were selected as the lucky couple after applying for KFC Weddings in November 2023. The competition asked lovebirds to capture and submit their most creative marriage proposal using an 11-herb-and-spiced onion ring from the limited-time BBQ Onion Ring Burger which dropped nationwide for a month.

The newlywed couple, Thanh and Brian said, “Our KFC-themed wedding was an absolute blast, and having KFC play a big role made it unforgettable. Sharing the day with our closest friends and family made it extra special, and we’re grateful for the love and laughter everyone brought to our wedding.

“Our entrance as a married couple to the reception was marked by a dance with custom KFC buckets – a moment that truly set the tone for the entire night. It was hands down the most incredible day of our lives.”

KFC Australia chief marketing officer, Tami Cunningham said, “We know the special role that KFC has played in so many couples’ love stories, so what could go better together than our fried chicken and a wedding. We’re delighted to see Thanh and Brian get married and celebrate their love with their friends, family and bucketloads of Kentucky Fried Chicken, and hope it’s a day they will remember for the rest of their lives together.”

Having announced the return of KFC Weddings in November 2023 as part of the launch of the new BBQ Onion Ring Burger, KFC Australia received an incredible amount of entries from couples all across the country. The applications were judged on their creativity, independent expression and how KFC fit into their own love story, with the lucky couple selected to have their own KFC wedding.
