Australia’s first B Corp certified underwear brand, Boody, has announced that its period and leak-proof underwear range has been certified as 100% PFA-free.

PFAs consist of thousands of non-organic substances commonly found in products that resist stains and water. These chemicals can attach to proteins in blood, and travel to every organ in the body, linking to health issues including cancer, reduced immune response and reproductive complications.

Conducted by third-party clinic, TUV Rheinland in Germany, the testing of Boody’s period underwear confirmed zero traces of PFAs. One of the first to acquire third-party testing on its period underwear range, Boody is educating consumers on the importance of safe, sustainable garments for their bodies and the planet.

Boody global head of brand and marketing, Ruth Haffenden said, “At Boody we’re dedicated to providing our customers with high quality garments that serve their bodies, and our planet. Period underwear is and remains the most sustainable option for those who bleed, and we’re confident this certification will lead the way and inspire other brands to get the all-clear for the safety of customers far and wide.

“With PFAs a cause for concern in the leak-proof underwear space, it was a no-brainer to go that extra step and do our due diligence as a brand. Rest assured, Boody continues to be a safe and trusted brand for Australians far and wide, with testing now introduced on an ongoing-basis to further safeguard our products.”

Boody’s leak-proof range includes a mix of viscose made from organically grown bamboo, seaweed fibre and cotton across four layers of material to provide maximum comfort and protection. The range includes both full brief and classic bikini, and all styles come in sizes XS to 3XL.

The leak-proof underwear range is available online at www.Boody.com.au, The Iconic and Amazon, as well as in-store at local pharmacies and IGAs.
