The Fair Work Ombudsman is prosecuting, of Rosebery Heights, who previously owned Hair Del Mar at Fannie Bay.

In prosecution documents lodged in the Federal Magistrates Court in Darwin, the Fair Work Ombudsman alleges the owners of Hair Del Mar at Fannie Bay, Tineil Tai and Stanley John Huen, failed to pay a 20-year-old apprentice hairdresser’s accrued annual leave entitlements of $993 when she resigned last year.

The apprentice worked full-time at Hair Del Mar from January to October last year without taking any leave.

The Fair Work Ombudsman is seeking penalties against the couple and a court order for the money allegedly owed to be back-paid.

Tai and Huen each face a maximum potential penalty of $6600.
