Fashion retailer Country Road is off to a good start for the financial year of 2013.

The company has reported first quarter sales in Australasia have increased by 36.9 per cent. This includes its Australasian sales for Witchery and Mimco, which it officially acquired on 30 September.

In comparable terms, sales for the same period increased by 12.2 per cent and net space, excluding the acquisition contracted by 2.1 per cent.

The group’s South African sales were not included in these trading results. Instead the company said a corresponding announcement was listed on the Johannesburg stock exchange by its holding company Woolworths Holdings Limited.
