Domino’s Pizza is set to launch electric scooters across its Australian stores as one of many sustainability initiatives aimed at reducing its carbon footprint.

Over the next three years, the company will replace its current scooter models with environmentally-friendly electric scooters.

Domino’s chief operating officer, Andrew Rennie, said Domino’s was committed to reducing its impact on their environment by introducing electric scooters.

“We have done extensive research and testing to ensure electric scooters can deliver long term benefits to our business and our environmental impact,” he said.

“Our new electric scooters have been designed and modified for our delivery needs, ensuring we can still deliver piping hot pizzas while doing our bit for the environment.”

Domino’s New Farm store in Brisbane was one of the first stores to trial the electric scooters over eight months.  As a result of the successful trial Domino’s has purchased seven Vmoto electric scooters as the first step in the roll out initiative.

Vmoto exclusive distributor Raymond Rooney said this arrangement was the company’s first ‘business to business’ sale of its electric scooter model.

“It has been a pleasure working on this project with Domino’s as our first ‘business to business’ electric scooter partnership in Australia. They have really shown they want to be a front runner in reducing emissions,” Rooney said.
