BP Australia has launched a smartphone payment app that allows consumers to pay for fuel from their car.

The app, BPMe enables BP Plus card to pay for their fuel, track their odometer, store electronic fuel receipts and locate their closest BP service station, all from their smartphones.

The technology, which BP claims to be a local market first, will launch in Australia on August 1. BPMe launched in New Zealand earlier this week.

“Providing a simpler and faster way to fill up, BPMe will allow customers to enjoy the best possible refueling experience by giving time back and conveniently making payment from the comfort of their own vehicle,” said VP sales and marketing, Brooke Miller.
