Retailers will see ADT Security’s new interactive display unit and discover the capabilities of facial detection and tracking technology at the Retail World Conference in Sydney later this month.

The Duonell interactive display unit, ideal for department stores and electronics retailers, allows customers to get hands-on with gadgets while they are switched on and functional. It means expensive items don’t need to be locked away in cabinets because of security fears, instead retailers can openly display products as an in-built anti-theft device emits a sound if merchandise is forcibly taken.

Customer waiting times will also be reduced because of Duonell’s interactive touch screen which can provide clients with important product information and video tutorials. Retailers can also benefit by downloading reports from the unit on customer data or adding up-selling and promotional messages to the touch screen system.

Facial detection and tracking technology will also be on show at the conference. It allows retailers to understand customer behaviour like never before.

The technology can capture traffic numbers, shopper direction and demographics so retailers can spot trends and security issues.

Retail World will be held at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre from June 27 to 29, with ADT Security present at stands 2 and 3. As the exclusive worldwide distributor of Sensormatic Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) systems, ADT Security will also have a range of the latest anti-theft tags, labels, pedestals and deactivators on display.
