The launch of The Shop Stop is allowing retailers to reward customers for shopping with them through cashback offers.
The website connects more than 500 brands and retailers, including Banana Republic, Bloomingdales, Dan Murphy’s, Expedia, Macy’s, StrawberryNet, StyleTread, SurfStitch, The Iconic, Topman and Zanui to online shoppers.
Managing director and co-founder of The Shop Stop Marc Peston said cashback shopping will revolutionise consumer shopping behaviour online.
“The Shop Stop is at the forefront of the online bargain hunt and will disrupt, consolidate and simplify what has already existed for the past few years in vouchers sites, reward programs and product comparison sites,” he said.
“For people who frequently shop online The Shop Shop’s cash back shopping offers a great way to save money by being paid cash for shopping online at your favourite stores. Already hugely popular in the USA and Europe, cash back shopping is a safe way to get more out of your spending.”
In addition to cashback offers, The Shop Stop incorporates product searches, price comparison, vouchers and deals for a variety of categories, including clothing, sporting goods, pet products and financial services.
For retailers and brands there are no joining or advertising fees and will only need to pay a commission once a sale is made. The Shop Stop can also take a store’s product feed to allow comparisons on the site and promote sales events to help move old stock.
Peston said the simplicity of the cash back offering, rather than reward points, makes it appealing for both consumers and retailers.
