PayPal has announced that it is expanding its buyer protection for online shoppers when they make a purchase with retailers that accept PayPal internationally.

The expanded protection covers shoppers on merchant websites if they didn’t receive an item they purchased, or if they receive any item which is significantly different than described the merchant.

Frerk-Malte Feller, PayPal Australia managing director, said following its research with The Leading Edge, it revealed that 33 per cent of online shoppers are hesitant to shop online because they are not being adequately protected.

“We are pleased to be able to offer consumers this additional protection and further improve customer experience when shopping online."
