Shopping site Getprice has been announced as one of Australia’s fastest growing technology companies by the Deloitte 2010 Technology Fast 50 Program.
Now its tenth year, the program ranks the 50 fastest growing public or private technology companies, based on percentage revenue growth over three years (2008 to 2010).
Chief executive officer of Getprice, Chris Hitchen told Retailbiz that over the last three years, Getprice has been growing rapidly.
“Getprice has been exponentially expanding our reach, particularly over the last three years since News Digital Media initially invested a stake into the company,” he said.
“To be recognised as one of Australia’s fastest growing technology company is a huge achievement for us and illustrates our important contribution to e-commerce in Australia.
“Our customers are guaranteed a great shopping experience every time they come to Getprice, one not just about a price and product search. This is why we continue to be successful and why retailers enjoy incredible conversion rates from the huge volume of traffic we deliver.”
Getprice achieved a top 10 ranking at number 10 after growing over 250 per cent over three years. This is the second year in a row Getprice has made the list after ranking 15th in the 2009 list.
According to Joshua Tanchel, leader of Deloitte’s Technology Fast 50 Program, the companies needed to show a record high revenue growth and adopted innovative techniques that help fast-track the growth.
“This year’s winners are adapting to a fast paced changing technology landscape, seeking out and developing new technologies and bringing innovative solutions to the market place,” he said.
Total revenue for this year’s Fast 50 winners was approximately $1.8 billion, which is a 72 per cent increase from the previous year.
Currently, Getprice reaches nearly three million Australians a month and has over 1000 retailers and two million offers listed on its site each month.
“In the coming months, we are launching our new mobile site, a market leading mobile app and the next generation of our website. We will be taking comparison shopping to a completely new level in Australia,” Hitchen said.
“In addition, we will continue to integrate our offering into the News Limited network. This has already been seen with our integration into news.com.au.”
