Woolworths has decided to bring its liquor label Dan Murphy’s online with an e-Commerce website.

Speaking to Retailbiz, Luke Schepen from Woolworths said there are two main purposes for the new website.

“The Dan Murphy’s website will allow customers to be able to get their products online particularly for those who are not near a store and it’d therefore be convenient for them to access an online store,” he said.

“Also from a customer’s point of view it’d just be another channel in which they can shop particularly if a business is making bulk orders.”

He also noted that from the popularity of its other websites including Big W, Dick Smith and Woolworths, which topped Google’s fastest growing searched brands list, it was an obvious move for the business.

“What we know from our experience is that online shopping is growing and there’s a lot more people that are looking into our supermarket division in terms of online and that’s right across Australia. We see Dan Murphy as having that same opportunity,” Schepen said.
