Online catalogue business Catalogue Central has partnered with Yahoo!7 to syndicate its catalogue content within Yahoo!7’s newly launched promotions portal, extending Catalogue Central’s access to a portion of Yahoo!7’s 6.9 million monthly audience.

The content has been launched on the Yahoo!7 site in November, ahead of the anticipated strong Christmas sales period for retailers.

Catalogue Central’s content on the portal includes catalogues from some of Australia’s largest retailers including Big W, Optus, Best and Less, Dell, IGA and Clive Peeters.

According to Damon Scarr, national media sales director for Yahoo!7, the partnership with Catalogue Central ensures that Yahoo!7 continues to provide strong and attractive content for its audience who are increasingly using the internet as a source of valuable shopping information.

“Through our targeting technology we know that our audience spend a lot of time researching future retail purchase decisions online,” he said.

“The recent launch of our promotions site has made this even easier for our audience and the addition of catalogues to our content will give them even more choice and powerful shopping information.”

Catalogue Central’s general manager Matt Berriman said the partnership is a great opportunity for retailers to access Yahoo!7’s audience of nearly seven million people as well as Catalogue Central’s 300,000 plus strong subscriber database.

“Retailers continue to embrace Catalogue Central as we provide increased reach to our guaranteed catalogue reads model,” he said.

“Our new partnership with Yahoo!7 has come at crucial time for retailers who now fully appreciate the power and impact online catalogues have on in-store sales. It’s an exciting time for retailers as they continue to transition online, extending their catalogue reach beyond the traditional letterbox drop.”

Catalogue Central has recorded a further 105 per cent year-on-year growth for the first quarter of this financial year.
