The battle between bricks and mortar and online retailers are about to get fiercer with Australia Post signing a contract with Australia-based international shopping site

An Australia Post spokesperson has confirmed with RetailBiz that Tarazz has chosen the postal service to be their exclusive logistics partner.

“Australia Post is the leading provider of delivery services for online retailers and we’re pleased that Tarazz has chosen us as their logistics partner,” she said. is a shopping site that offers a selected collection of approximately 250,000 items from international retailers, including Walmart, Dorothy Perkins and Champs.

“Australia Post is most the trusted logistics partner and the public like that certainty and love the idea of buying from a retailer that has that trust. Australia Post was very keen to be involved and Tarazz saw it as a great fit,” Stephen Dabkowski, Tarazz spokesperson, said commenting on the deal.

Dabkowski also confirmed the company is looking to expand its retail offering with hopes to sign deals with US retailers Macy's, Banana Republic and J.Crew.

The site markets itself to international retailers as an opportunity to “secure your slice of Australia's thriving online retail market” where it handles all orders, overseas shipping, warranties, returns and customer support so the retailers are able to expand “your market with minimal effort”.

Dabkowski also said Tarazz hopes to open the site up to local retailers who will be able to offer products at competitive prices in coming months.

Despite this deal, the Australia Post spokesperson said it remains committed to supporting Australian retailers who look to take advantage of the online boom.

“With the largest retail network in the country, we understand the importance of the physical store environment and the online offer,” she said.

“We are therefore committed to helping businesses to trade online through a range of initiatives, such as Farmhouse Direct, Click & Send, eBay flat rate products and the national Driving Business Online program.”
