Wow Sight and Sound is continuing its Australia-wide expansion with a number of superstores either under construction, or in the planning phase, and recently announced a new store in Shepparton, Victoria.

Located on the corner of Benalla Road and Doyle Street Shepparton, the fitout of the store is close to completion and more than 40 staff have been hired as well, however, no opening date has been announced yet.

“We’ve taken time to ensure every element of this store is designed to deliver the ultimate customer experience and we are confident the people of Shepparton will be blown away when the doors open,” said WOW Sight & Sound’s director of retail Con Nicolas.

“We’ve employed over 40 full-time and casual staff from the surrounding area who will undertake extensive training to become ‘electronic specialists’ who are actually helpful and knowledgeable about the products we stock.”

Nicolas believes the success of WOW’s other 12 stores in Queensland, New South Wales and the Northern Territory, combined with its new online retail site, enabled the brand’s rapid national expansion.

“WOW has built a strong reputation as one of Australia’s leading electronics and entertainment retailers and the success of our new online store proves there is a strong demand for the brand nationally.”

Sponsorship has always been part of the WOW strategy and to coincide with the launch of the new store, the company announced it is sponsoring the Shepparton United Football Club.

“We are excited to bring the WOW concept to Victoria. We’ve already seen a great deal of interest and enthusiasm from the Shepparton community and WOW is a proud sponsor of the Shepparton United Football Club.”

One of the superstore’s trademarks is its impressive eight-metre high ‘WOW entertainment tower’ that serves as the centrepiece of the store.

The store will also feature its own plasma wall and home theatre room and showcase one of the biggest car audio soundboards in the world, in addition to a wide range of DVDs and CDs.
