Home products retailer Williams-Sonoma will open its first company-owned stores outside North America mid-next year at Bondi Junction.

The company has leased a 22,000 square feet space at the Exchange Building opposite Westfield Bondi Junction to house its iconic brands Williams-Sonoma, Pottery Barn, Pottery Barn Kids and West Elm.

Williams-Sonoma is opening the Australian stores as part of its global expansion strategy.

“I’m thrilled to continue our global expansion by opening our first Australian locations in Sydney,” says Laura Alber, president and CEO Williams-Sonoma. “We have spent a great deal of time looking for the right location and believe that the Exchange Building possesses the key elements for success. It offers us a central shopping location with easy access for pedestrians and commuters, as well as the perfect amount of space to introduce our brands to Australia.”

The Williams-Sonoma store has a focus on food and the Sydney location will feature a cooking school and professional demonstration kitchen for events with culinary staff and guest chefs.

Home furnishings retailer Pottery Barn will have lifestyle displays and a design studio for customers to plan their home decorating with trained associates, while Pottery Barn kids will focus on children’s living areas.

West Elm will retail stylish, authentic and affordable products for the home and gift giving.
