The Warehouse Group has announced that Mark Powell will be replacing Ian Morris as group chief executive officer later in the year.
Chairman Keith Smith said the board is delighted to announce the new appointment.
“Mark’s appointment reflects well on the company’s succession planning and the quality of the management group at The Warehouse,” he said.
Powell has previously held senior management roles in the retail sector internationally over the past two decades.
He has been appointed as CEO Designate and the management change will be effected through a transition period over the coming months. This will see Powell and Morris working together, with the date of the final handover to be agreed between them. Thereafter, Morris will support Powell and the board until the end of November.
Morris advised the board last year that he intended to retire as CEO during 2011.
