Victoria’s first WOW Sight and Sound opens today, marking the retailer’s 13th outlet, located on the corner of Benalla Road and Doyle Street in Shepparton.

WOW Sight and Sound’s director of retail Con Nicolas said the brand will celebrate bringing the WOW concept to Victoria with a range of grand opening activities and discounts.

“It’s shaping up to be a massive opening day with some great specials on our already affordable selection of high quality products,” he said.

Nicolas said the store will be a major boost for the area offering a one-stop-shop for electronic and entertainment products and already providing many new job opportunities for locals.

“We’ve employed over 40 full-time and casual staff who have undergone extensive training to become ‘electronics specialists’. It’s vital to our reputation that our staff members are actually knowledgeable about the products we stock in order to be helpful to our customers.”

The superstore will also feature its own plasma wall and home theatre room and showcase one of the biggest car audio soundboards in the world.

“Our stores are designed to deliver the ultimate experience for customers both in terms of products and fitout.”

Nicolas said it was the success of WOW’s other 12 stores in Queensland, New South Wales and the Northern Territory combined with its new online retail site that enabled the brand’s rapid national expansion.

WOW Sight and Sound sponsors the Brisbane Broncos, Queensland Roar, V8 Super Cars, Cairns’ Taipans basketball team and Australia Zoo, and is also a sponsor of the Shepparton United football club.

The retailer currently has 12 stores throughout Australia, with a number of other superstores either under construction, or in the planning phase.
