Japanese global apparel retailer, UNIQLO, will celebrate the opening of its fifth store in Queensland at Westfield Mt Gravatt on Thursday 30 May.

UNIQLO’s new store spans over 1,000 square metres and will offer a full line-up of UNIQLO’s LifeWear apparel for men, women and kids, including the latest Autumn/Winter collection, and selected items from the ANYA HINDMARCH collection – the retailer’s first collaboration with the UK designer.

She starts with the UNIQLO LifeWear items and reimagines these with the unique creative direction of the ANYA HINDMARCH brand, known for creativity and craftsmanship. Combining a warm, pared back colour palette with original and sophisticated designs, UNIQLO x ANYA HINDMARCH is set to add warmth and charm to this season.

The store will feature five UNIQLO self-checkout machines, which adopt advanced technology, eliminating the need to scan any items, along with 10 fitting rooms to minimise wait time for customers.

Commenting on the opening of the newest store, UNIQLO Australia CEO, Fuminori Adachi said, “Thanks to exceptional support from the Brisbane community, we are delighted to open our fifth store in Queensland and to bring a little Tokyo to the heart of Mt Gravatt with our LifeWear range.

“Our UNIQLO Mt Gravatt team looks forward to providing UNIQLO’s world-famous levels of customer service for local customers, and to introducing our LifeWear philosophy of clothing to the community. We hope everyone will experience the joy, happiness, and satisfaction of wearing high-quality clothes from UNIQLO at a great price point.”

Scentre Group regional manager for centre experience, Kylie Doulman added, “An important part of the Westfield customer experience is how we continue to evolve our offer to meet the needs and interests of our local community. UNIQLO has been one of the most-requested brands by our customers at Westfield Mt Gravatt, and we know they will be excited to have the wide range of quality apparel and in-store experiences UNIQLO has to offer.”

UNIQLO Mt Gravatt opens 10am on Thursday 30 May, following an official Japanese ribbon-cutting ceremony and traditional taiko drumming performance as a nod to UNIQLO’s heritage.

To celebrate the opening, UNIQLO will provide a free UNIQLO gift bag to the first 500 customers who spend $100 or more in the store, as well as running other exclusive opening offers.
