Brisbane’s Toombul Shopping Centre is inviting women to a 50-day fashion festival designed to inspire, educate and help women feel confident in their bodies by merging professional advice and tips with the latest fashion trends.

The event kicked off on 6 October, with one-on-one stylist consultations and a calendar of workshops and events hosted by body positive fashion app, Mys Tyler’s contributors. It is the first major event following Mirvac’s long-term investment and partnership with Mys Tyler.

Mirvac Retail general manager, Kelly Miller said “Mirvac Retail is heavily invested in supporting progressive brands and entrepreneurs, providing them a platform to activate and grow their businesses across our spaces.”

She continued: “Mys Tyler encompasses all that we are about, proudly embracing inclusivity, diversity and sustainability. This first Stylist in Residence activation demonstrates what is possible when you reimagine retail spaces and co-create destinations with inspiring partners for our combined communities to come and connect, learn and be entertained, and all while supporting our local retailers.”

Each of the stylists involved are fashion contributors on the Mys Tyler app, a styling platform serving up body-relevant fashion inspiration. Shoppers will be able to visit the Toombul Shopping Centre website to book in professional consults with stylists throughout the event.

Mys Tyler founder, Sarah Neill added, “We’re excited to bring Mys Tyler’s online community into a bricks and mortar setting to connect with shoppers and our community in a whole new way. This collaboration with Mirvac and the team at Toombul Shopping Centre is a true integration of the physical and digital fashion world and is the first of many experiential events we have planned in collaboration with Mirvac.”

She continued: “At Mys Tyler, we have a big focus on an inclusive and diverse fashion community. Through our in-person workshops and events, we’re able to champion a variety of fashion stories and open up conversations that have impact and truly make a difference to consumers.”

In addition to daily styling consults, the event offers fashion workshops that will deep-dive into a range of topics like The Psychology of Colour, and Maternity/Postpartum Fashion. There will also be a live body-positive panel discussion and an inclusive fashion show event to cap off the festivities in November.
