The Athlete’s Foot has been awarded two retail awards – BRW’s Innovation in Retailing Award and Choice Magazine’s Best Retailers Award in Sport and Leisure.
The BRW’s Innovation in Retailing Award was presented to The Athlete’s Foot based on the strength of its expansion into larger format stores and the use of its Fitprint technology. Staff training and sales systems were also factors in the chain’s selection.
The Athlete’s Foot was also a finalist in the overall category of BRW’s Outstanding Retailer of the Year category.
Choice Magazine’s People’s Choice Award’ for Best Retailer in the Sport and Leisure category was the result of a survey of Choice’s more than 12,000 members. The Choice Magazine award noted The Athlete’s Foot ranking was because of its staff’s helpfulness.
Michael Cooper, The Athlete’s Foot managing director, said the company is committed to delivering satisfying customer service.
While conditions in the retail sector are patchy we are proudly a full price retailer with top quality service, providing a unique and defendable point of difference from many of our competitors. We are planning to continue our expansion across Australia over the next year with new outlets and innovations,” he said.
The Athlete’s Foot chain of 147 outlets is currently record sales, despite the well publicized difficulties in the retail sector.
