Cold Rock Ice Creamery has climbed the ranks of BRW’s Fast Franchises list for 2011.

The ice cream chain, which is owned by Melbourne-based Franchised Food Company (FFCo), ranked 31 on the list for fastest growing franchise by revenue, up from 32 in 2010.

It also jumped from 33 to 27 on the list for fastest growing franchises by outlets.

FFCo executive chairman Stan Gordon said the company’s focus to achieve excellence in its product, service and operations has allowed it to succeed.

“We’ve invested a lot of time and effort into improving our business model and expansion strategy to ensure Cold Rock remains one of Australia’s leading franchises,” he said.

Cold Rock’s revenue exceeded $35 million for the 2009-10 financial year, recording an annual average growth of 21.3 per cent.

Store numbers have grown an average of 17.3 per cent annually to 95 outlets nationwide.

Gordorn said its 100th store is due to open in coming months.
