Pronto Software has appointed Stephen Duncan as retail and CRM product manager to drive the development and go-to-market strategy of the company’s sales and marketing application suite.

With over 15 years of experience in retail and IT, Duncan is responsible for overseeing the entire retail product lifecycle of PRONTO-Xi, working with the R&D team to deliver a flexible, fully integrated solution that caters for the varying needs of retail businesses.

“Australian retailers are facing a challenging situation: while consumers have slowed their spending considerably, retailers face rising costs such as rents and wages. Bricks-and-mortar retailers face the additional challenge of online sales reducing their margins and attracting their customers,” Duncan said.

Duncan is also focused on increasing Pronto Software’s profile in the retail space and ensuring closer working relationships with key industry bodies such as the Australian Retailers Association.

Duncan believes keeping abreast of industry trends and requirements will be critical for product development. “It’s important that we understand global market drivers and where it’s heading and translate that back into our solution.”

Prior to being appointed to the Retail and CRM product manager role, Duncan was the lead solutions consultant for retail at Pronto Software’s NSW branch office. He also spent 11 years with ACR Business Systems as national sales and marketing manager.
