The Reject Shop has gone into a trading halt as a result of the Queensland floods, which has left many homeless and businesses underwater.

In a letter to the ASX requesting the trading halt, Darren Briggs, the company’s CFO, said The Reject Shop will be “adversely impact”, particularly on its Ipswich distribution centre, which currently services 90 of its 211 stores.

"We require the suspension to last no more than 48 hours which should enable the business enough time to assess the impact of the floods on business and in particular on the operation of the Distribution Centre," he said.
