Paddy Pallin, Australia’s oldest outdoor and travel outfitter, recently celebrated the reopening of its Little Bourke Street store with a party for 250 Paddy Pallin Club members and guests.
Rob Pallin, son of Paddy and CEO of the company, officially opened the new premises.
The store refit has reduced, reused and recycled to set a benchmark for environmentally sustainable retail stores and has already won an environmental award for outstanding results for adopting sustainable practices in a work place by Village Green Environmental Solutions.
“Paddy Pallin was an ardent environmentalist and we are proud to continue the tradition. We are the first outdoor equipment retailer in Australia – in fact, one of the first of any kind of retailer – to adopt a range of initiatives, building materials and green features in a shop fit-out, over and above normal environmental building regulations,” said Pallin.
