Australian fashion designer Nicola Finetti has signed an exclusive agreement with David Jones.

Nicola Finetti collections will be available on a department store exclusive basis at David Jones from the commencement of the Autumn/Winter 2014 (February 2014) season, launching into eleven key stores nationally as well as online at www.davidjones.com.au. This will follow the expiration of Finetti’s contract with Myer.

“We are delighted to add Nicola Finetti to our brand portfolio,” Donna Player, David Jones group executive of merchandise, said.

“We have added more than 140 new international and Australian brands over the past 12 months. We believe our customers will embrace Nicola’s intricate tailoring and contemporary designs and are delighted to offer the brand from the beginning of the Autumn/Winter 2014 season.”

Nicola Finetti joins a list of brands that have approached and joined David Jones on a department store exclusive basis, following Kym Ellery’s lead earlier this year. Over the past four months, Sunseeker, Simona, Gumboots, Finders Keepers and international brands Givenchy, Joseph and Emilio Pucci as well as makeup giant Laura Mercier switched department stores, joining David Jones exclusively.

“My contract with Myer was due to expire so I took the opportunity to approach David Jones about joining their brand portfolio and yesterday entered into a department store exclusive agreement with David Jones,” Nicola Finetti said.

“Not only is the Nicola Finetti customer the David Jones customer but David Jones understands brands and how they wish to be positioned in the market. I believe their strategy going forward is one that I want my brand aligned with.”
