On the 24th September 2013, the Retail Conference will take place at Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre.

Sue Anderson, director of programs at The Retail Institute, will provide the Australian Retail Outlook for 2013/ 2014, and set the scene for the day of key learning’s from internationally renowned expert speakers from the retail industry keen to share their knowledge.

With an opening Keynote address from Charles Horner, communications director at Specsavers, this year’s Retail Conference is set to be an essential learning tool for all in the industry wishing to analyse, innovate and implement new retail systems and technology into their businesses. By exploring the retail experience from a business, branding and customer perspective, delegates can expect to develop a comprehensive understanding of the retail processes, and how they can be implemented within their own roles.

This year’s Retail Conference 2013 has a strong theme of adaptation and David Fenner; the general manager of Retail Solutions at Motorola (AU & NZ) will elaborate on this topic from a business’ perspective. From the branding perspective, Hans Hulsbosch, executive creative director at Australia’s leading brand and design company HULSBOSCH, will reflect upon successful case studies with iconic brands including Woolworths, Caltex and Rebel. Hans will explain the importance of identifying business problems with a brand expert and how a business’ commercial objectives can be directly addressed using a mix of sound brand strategy and creative communications which understand and respect the consumer brand relationship.

The customer’s perspective will be explored by Malcolm Wicks, marketing director at Pierhouse Business Solutions. Malcom will speak from an international angle, and discuss why major UK retailers are developing their focus on customers and how Australian retailers can use this knowledge to respond to the challenges created by Australia’s overcrowded and intensely competitive retail market.
