As part of its $18.5 million expansion strategy for the current financial year, Eagle Boys Pizza said it will open an average of more than one new store each week during the first six months of 2011.

The 46 store rollout has already seen 15 stores open in the six months to 31 December 2010.

CEO Todd Clayton said the rapid store growth was the result of double-digit sales growth and a spike in inquiries from potential franchisees.

“While Eagle Boys is Australia’s second largest pizza maker, we still see many potential markets for us across the country as we work towards the number one spot,” he said.

“Helping to drive Eagle Boys is innovation, including new menu offerings such as gourmet pizzas and complementary side dishes, and developments in online ordering and digital technology which makes it easier for our customers to reach us.”

The opening of the 25th Eagle Boys Pizza store in Sydney was announced last week.
