Metcash has signed a new supply agreement with Supabarn Supermarkets, which will have an initial term of seven years.

The agreement includes supply to the 11 current Supabarn Supermarkets and SupaExpress Stores in the ACT and NSW and will extend to a further four new Supabarn stores scheduled to open progressively in the next 24 months as part of the retailer’s aggressive growth plans.

Supabarn presently generate annual sales in excess of $250 million and with its scheduled new store openings, anticipate exceeding $350 million annual turnover when the four additional new stores are open and trading.

“We are pleased to have been chosen by Supabarn to be their wholesale supplier as they embark upon this next exciting phase. Metcash is aligned with Supabarn’s growth plans and it is now our job to support them over the next few years,” Silvestro Morabito, Metcash food and grocery chief operating officer, said.
