Metcash chairman Peter Barnes has appointed Fiona Balfour as a director of the board.
“We are fortunate in being able to secure Fiona’s services as a Director. She brings to the Board the skills acquired from over thirty years executive experience in the services sector, across the aviation, telecommunications, health administration, financial services and education industries,” Barnes said in announcing the appointment.
Balfour is a former chief information officer and member of the Qantas executive committee as well as chief information officer of Telstra.
She will be joining the next board meeting on 25 November 2010.
