Continuing its expansion across the country, Masters Home Improvement has opened its first NSW store in Gregory Hills, a south western suburb of Sydney.

The Gregory Hills store is the sixth Masters store to open in Australia where it already has existing operations in Queensland and Victoria, including the first store that it opened in the outer-Melbourne suburb of Braybrook.

It will create more than 150 new retail jobs.

“We are delighted to open our first New South Wales store, bringing new jobs, new investment and new opportunities to the State. Masters is based in new South Wales, most of our team live and work here and we are very excited about the potential to grow our business here in the coming years,” Masters CEO Don Stallings said.

Masters is a joint venture between Woolworths and leading US home improvement retailer Lowe’s. There are currently 16 stores under construction across Australia.

Woolworths is set to spend $100 million rolling out the big box Masters stores across Australian in the 2011-2012 financial year. It set to open 150 stores by 2016.
