The deal was negotiated off-market in less than a week by Colliers retail leasing manager, Tom Larwill, who said the restauranteur was instantly drawn to the vibrant Collingwood location, which is quickly becoming a hotspot for food and beverage operators looking to expand and open new concepts.

The Israeli food operator, with multiple established restaurants worldwide in Tel Aviv, New York, Vienna and Paris, plans to open the Melbourne venue on 45 Derby Street, Collingwood, in November 2023.

Collingwood has undergone a massive transformation in recent years, becoming a more desirable precinct for residential and commercial developments, Miznon will join other seasoned operators including Le Bon Ton, Hotel Jesus, Smith Street Bistro and Hope Street Radio.

Colliers associate director of research, Nik Potter said, “The Collingwood and broader Yarra LGA is forecasted to see 20% growth in population by 2032, representing a significant growth region close to the Melbourne CBD.

“The consistent growth and investment in both office and residential development will continue to underpin the success of hospitality and retail within the precinct, and we expect interest in the area to continue.”
