There's been arguments going back and forth that what is missing from Australian retailing is customer service. A recent study from American Express found Aussies are more likely to spend with a store if they receive quality customer service. However, financial results from retailers like Coles and Woolworths indicate that since they've lowered the prices of their products its helped improve sales.
