Gelatissimo has appointed Filipe Barbosa as the new CEO of Gelatissimo after brothers and joint-CEOs of the business Domenico and Marco Lopresti have plans to move onto new ventures.
“Our time at Gelatissimo has been the most exciting and fulfilling of our lives but we think it is the right time for the company to introduce new leadership,” Domenico said.
“Marco and I joined the business when it was just a newborn, but our baby has grown and is now standing, confidence and strong. Like all good parents, we know it is time to let go.”
Barbosa has been with the company for more than 11 years, making him the company’s longest serving employee and the only one who has been with the company in various capacities since its inception.
Commenting on Barbosa’s appointment is co-owner Stanley Roth who said: “We chose Filipe because he understands the heritage of the business; where we come from, what we stand for, and how that needs to be taken into the future.
“And we are confident that Filipe has the management and leadership skills to guide Gelatissimo through the next phase of its Australian and international growth.”
