Gap is opening up its third store in Australia in the heart of Melbourne’s shopping, eating and entertainment precinct Melbourne Central.

Located on level one of the LaTrobe Street building, the 999 square metre store will feature a large corner storefront that will have high visibility of the precinct’s promenade and a1.5m Gap logo. The remaining sections of the storefront are glazed offering fantastic views and sightlines into the window displays and through the store.

Upon entering the store the customers will be met by a fusion of clean lines, earthy timber finishes, eye catching graphics, visual displays, and feature lighting.

To carry Gap’s collection of Adult, Kids and Baby, the Melbourne Central store will launch with the Summer 2011 collection.

Andrew Bouise, Busby Holdings CEO, said the company will continue to pursue opportunities to expand in the Australian market.

“We are thrilled to offer our Melbourne customers another first class International Gap store,” he said.

“The opportunity to open our third store in the Melbourne CBD is set to drive the success we have enjoyed over the last 12 months since launching Gap in Australia.”

In the last 12 months, the brand has opened two stores in Chadstone Shopping Centre and Westfield Sydney.
