Early this morning a fire broke out at the Royal Randwick Shopping Centre at Randwick, causing the evacuation of about 2500 people.
Shortly before 10am it was reported there was a fire in the Food for Less shop, with heavy white smoke coming out of the store.
Police suspects a group of teenagers on roller blades may be involved as they were seen leaving the shop at the time of the explosion.
The shopping centre was closed off with several fire engines attending the scene and will not reopen until at least tomorrow morning.
