To help ease the retail rush this December, Dymocks will be launching a bicycle courier service for Sydney CBD.
The Dymocks CBD Pushy Express will offer those living and working in the Sydney CBD and North Sydney, a same day delivery service that will take advantage of Sydney’s green bicycle lanes.
Don Grover, Dymocks CEO, told Retailbiz that this is the first time the company has offered this service, with no other major Australian retailer providing this sort of service for books in Sydney.
“We’ve chosen Sydney as the place to run a pilot for our Pushy Express same day delivery service this Christmas due to of the large number of our customers living or working in and around the Sydney CBD,” he said.
“We have also received feedback from our customers wishing to order and receive their books on the same day. Additionally, the city is increasingly well served by the emerging network of bicycle lanes which help ensure that deliveries to our customers will be consistently safe and reliable.”
Customers will be able to place an order for any product in the Dymocks Christmas catalogue online until 24 December.
According to Grover, there are intentions of offering the service all year round and to other Australia capital cities next year.
“Our pilot service in Sydney this December will give us a great insight into how valuable it is for our customers. We thought December would be a great time to launch the service so that Sydneysiders could buy for themselves or their family and friends, have their books gift wrapped, and have them delivered on the same day,” he said.
