The relocation of Danks’ Victorian distribution centre, which was to be a shared facility with Masters Home Improvement, has been deferred to June 2013.
According to Con Dekazos, Danks general manager – operations, the original decision was to relocate the centres in 2012.
“[It] was an ambitious one in terms of the extent of infrastructure fit out and IT systems integration. By taking a phased approach, this enables Masters to fully integrate their operations during the critical start up phase,” he said.
“This decision supports Danks’ long standing commitment to customer service and ensures we maintain our current high standards of delivery, quality service levels and supply stability. The proposed timeframe also takes into account relocating outside of the high volume industry demand peaks of late 2012 and early 2013.”
Danks, therefore will continue to supply its Victorian, South Australian, Tasmanian and Northern Territory customer base from its existing distribution centres and its supply chain teams will be located in Braeside and South Dandenong.
