Country Road has opened a new store in Camberwell, Victoria, targeting a 5-Star Green Star Interior Certification from the Green Building Council of Australia.
The rating indicates Australian excellence in store design and will become Country Road’s 16th store location to target the rating since the relaunch of its Chadstone flagship in 2019.
Throughout the design process, existing store elements were repurposed to reduce waste, while new fixtures incorporate recycled materials.
This includes fixtures made of recycled yoghurt containers, carpet using recycled fishing nets, recycled paper wall cladding, parquetry flooring reclaimed from old buildings, fitting room hooks revitalised using ocean plastic, child seating crafted using recycled plastic toys, fitting room curtains made using recycled polyester, door handles made using recycled timber, custom-made recycled PET rugs and kitchen benchtops made using damaged Country Road Demm Mugs and marble waste.

Housing the brand’s complete range across woman, man, child and home, the collections feature organically grown fibres, recycled materials and Australian-made items. Being the first Australian fashion retailer to partner with Oritain to scientifically verify fibre origin, Country Road offers styles made from verified Australian cotton and verified Australian merino that can be traced back to Australian farms.
The Camberwell store also includes Country Road’s first dedicated gift wrap station to streamline the customer gifting experience. Gift boxes are complimentary for VIP Platinum members, and available to purchase for all other customers.
