Coles customers have donated over a million dollars in just two days to support victims of the Victorian bushfires.

“We’d like to thank our customers for giving so generously. This is a fantastic response and reflects how deeply this tragedy has affected people all over Australia,” said Coles managing director, Ian McLeod.

Coles will continue to provide a facility for customers to donate at its registers and will donate this Friday’s (13 Feb) profits from its 750 stores nationally to the Bushfire Appeal Fund.

“We are also continuing to provide on the ground assistance to those in need in bushfire-affected areas,” said McLeod.

“Yesterday, Coles organised the delivery of fruit to the Whittlesea community activity centre with the assistance of Linfox, the Salvation Army and many suppliers.

“This week, our supermarket team members in Healesville and Whittlesea have been actively involved in delivering food, water and other necessities, such as torches, batteries, bandages and personal hygiene products to a number of bushfire relief centres.”
