Retail training provider First Impressions Resources (fir) has joined forces with sister company The Prop House and visual merchandising and window dressing specialists VM+ to offer the Diploma of Visual Merchandising in Brisbane 2013.

According to fir CEO Mike Wallace the diploma is recognised within the industry as the benchmark in visual merchandising vocational education and training.

“This is an exciting, hands-on qualification that will equip graduates with the skills, knowledge and experience to communicate brands visually,” he says.
“We’re really excited to be able to offer the diploma in partnership with VM+. We’re confident our combined experience has a lot to offer prospective students,” he says.

VM+ and The Prop House director, Jano Dawes, says effective visual merchandising is an important tool for retailers as it drives traffic and generates sales.

“Businesses of all kinds are increasingly recognising the importance of quality visual merchandising and the demand for these services is only going to grow,” she says. “This makes visual merchandising a very attractive career path into the retail, event and exhibition industries for those with a passion and flair for design and creativity.”

The course will involve practical workshops, labs, lectures and an industry based project. It runs from February to November. This year’s intake is a maximum of 16 students.

Prospective students are invited to attend an open day at the VM+ offices in Woollongabba on Tuesday January 29 from 6pm to 8pm.
