RB: Briefly (in one or two points) explain what you'll be speaking about at the Conference?
SR: Why building a great brand is far more important than offering great prices!

RB: Why do you believe this/these topic(s) are important and relevant to retailers?

SR: Retailer aren't unique anymore. No point of difference with the only opportunity is to reduce and discount their pricing. No one offers a great shopping experience and retailers think that a happy client is one who has saved money. WRONG!

RB: Can you provide comment about the current state of the Australian retail sector and ONE tip you'd give to retailers.

SR: Know what your customers want! Too many experts beating around the bush these days, filling retailers heads with ideas of grandeurs when they simply need to go back to basics. Social Media is not the remedy for retail, good old fashion customer service, value pricing and a great range is what customers want. Add to that convenience and you will have a successful business. Retail is experiencing what we had with the advent of colour TV, email marketing and now the internet. The smart retailer can see what the horizon holds and adapts and grows with the new mediums….somehow these days, retailers have forgotten how to be exactly that….be retailers.
