Bowens has unveiled its latest store in Cheltenham, Victoria, marking the third new store opening in the past six months and growing its network to 19 locations across the state.

The Australian business has been supplying the country’s largest variety of quality timber and building supplies for over 129 years and is one of Australia’s largest providers of high-quality building supplies and timber.

The company has recognised Cheltenham as a key growth market that requires greater serviceability for local builders with the Bayside area experiencing a 3.7% annualised growth rate over the past five years.

Bowens director, Andy Bowen said, “We are excited to be opening the doors of our newest store in Cheltenham. Spanning 8,500 square metres, the new site, located at 330-336 Reserve Road, has been designed to ensure all customers can safely access materials quickly, meaning more time on the building site.

“Complete with an undercover drive through and a huge range of timber and building materials, this new store also offers over 1,000 square metres of dedicated builders hardware products and essentials.”

Bowens head of procurement and merchandising, Jon Goudswaard added, “Cheltenham is one of Bowens most exciting stores yet. The Ultimate Trade Range offering is impressive, tailored for builders and professional trades. This includes a huge range of timber, panel and hardware products including an extensive range of metalware, screws and fasteners.

“A great selection of timber and composite decking, and a full range of fibre cement products to mention a few. All easily accessible so tradies can drive in and load up with ease. This is something we are proud of and can’t wait to service builders in the area.”

Adding between 30 and 40 new full-time jobs for the area, the Bowens Cheltenham store is expected to service hundreds of local builders with a commitment to ensure building products are delivered on time and in full.

Bowens continues to invest in its Victorian store network with refurbishment plans progressing at its Hastings and Epping stores.
