Ice-cream retailer Ben & Jerry’s continues its Australian expansion opening its fourth Scoop shop franchise on the Gold Coast and the introduction of packaged products in selected outlets in the ACT.

The expansion is part of a larger rollout plan of introducing Ben & Jerry’s packaged product and franchise outlets into new states and follows last year’s announcement to open up to 30 franchise Scoop Shops in Australia.

Kalli Swaik, Ben & Jerry’s brand manager said: “Since the launch of Ben & Jerry’s in Australia back in 2009, expansion into the ACT will mark the fourth and most recent state to stock product – a big step in making Ben & Jerry’s available to the entire nation!

“Our franchise strategy has also been successful and a large part of our growth so we are proud to announce the Gold Coast scoop shop as our fourth franchise since the inaugural opening of the Chatswood Scoop Shop in 2012.”

Ben & Jerry’s is aiming to open up to 30 franchises in key sites along the east coast including Circular Quay, Darling Harbour and Sydney CBD in New South Wales, Melbourne CBD, South Bank and St Kilda in Victoria, and Brisbane CBD, Broad Beach, South Bank and The Valley in Queensland.

“We’re on the hunt for a team of dedicated Scoop Shop owners to help us spread peace, love and ice cream across the country. Ben & Jerry’s has a strong philanthropic focus and we’re looking for enthusiastic people who share the Ben & Jerry’s brand values and are committed to making their Scoop Shop a real success.”
